Brenda Underwood

Brenda Underwood earned her Bachelor's Degree from New York University in Comparative Religion and Writing and a Master of Arts in Creative Writing from Western Connecticut State University. She has worked in administration for the United Nations in both Geneva and New York and at Whitby School and Greenwich Academy in Greenwich, Connecticut. Most recently she was employed in Communications at The Hotchkiss School writing articles for The Hotchkiss Magazine.

Brenda's Master's Degree thesis, a memoir entitled, Not Even a Daughter, tells of growing up in rural Australia in the 1950s and 1960s, her departure for America at 21 and of driving around the world in a Volkswagen camper. It is a coming-of-age memoir which received the Thesis of Distinction Award.
